Inspired by the popular TV Show Nailed it!, join us for our Halloween edition of friendly competition and fun!\u00a0 Each aspiring decorator will be challenged to recreate a Halloween cake masterpiece made by our professional cake decorator.\u00a0 We’ll start with a cake decorating tutorial and tips to get started on the right track, then each contestant will be given a 2-layer 6 inch vanilla cake to decorate their own look-alike. Cakes equal approximately 6 servings and are baked by us ahead of time to allow cakes to cool. Just like the show, each contestant may press the buzzer for 3 minutes of assistance.\u00a0 Everyone will take home a cake but only one person will wear the golden chef hat!<\/em>\u00a0 Come join the fun!<\/p>\n

Our instructor will teach kids how to level a cake, crumb coat, use an offset spatula and scraper and piping bag to create a professional looking cake. (Please note: the picture on this event listing will not be the exact cake being decorated).<\/p>\n

About the instructor<\/p>\n

Melissa is an award winning cookie and cake decorator with many of her works published in magazines. She has over 13 years of experience, owns an in-house bakery and is\u00a0<\/span>a member of the Wilton Hall of Fame.\u00a0 She loves sharing her passion with children and adults alike.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

FOOD ALLERGIES:<\/strong>\u00a0Please contact us prior to registering if you have a food allergy.<\/strong>\u00a0We do not use peanuts or tree nuts unless specifically noted in the class description, however we cannot guarantee that ingredients are processed in a nut-free facility. Please let us know before you register and we are happy to review ingredient labels ahead of time.<\/span><\/p>\n

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:<\/strong> Classes are non-refundable, however, we understand that plans change. If your child is unable to attend a class, we will provide you with a credit to be used for another session (kitchen credits expire within 6 months). You must notify us at least 10 days<\/strong> before the class start date. Rescheduling requests must be emailed to us at info@mixitupkitchen.com or by calling us at 617-794-5191.\u00a0 Any requests made within the 10 day window<\/strong> can only be honored if we can fill your child\u2019s spot. Due to our limited class size we appreciate your understanding. You are always welcome to send another child in their place as long as they meet the age requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n
