SUMMARY:Marvelous Macarons | Tweens & Teens | Ages 11+
DESCRIPTION:Do you ever marvel at those beautiful french macarons found in fancy bakeries? These delicious Parisian sandwich cookies are remarkably simple once you learn the science and technique behind them.  In this hands-on workshop\, we’ll show you how to make meringue batter with techniques such as ribboning\, piping\, resting and baking. We’ll work in groups to make the shells and some delicious fillings. Each student will take home a sampler of all three varieties (chocolate\, pistachio and raspberry). \nPlease note: this class is not appropriate for people with tree nut and peanut allergies.  This class is for children ages 11+. Class size limited. \n  \nDate: Friday\, September 24th \nTime: 4:00-6:00 PM \nCost: $70 \n  \n\n\n\n\nThings to know: \nIf you have trouble registering or resetting a password\, please contact us at info@mixitupkitchen.com or at 617-794-5191.  \nCOVID-19 UPDATE: We will be following CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of our students. All classes will require the use of face coverings and strict sanitation and cleanliness protocols.  \nFOOD ALLERGIES: Please contact us prior to registering if you have a food allergy. This class specifically uses tree nuts and possibly ingredients made in a facility with peanuts. Please let us know before you register and we are happy to review ingredient labels ahead of time. \nCLASS CANCELLATION POLICY: Classes are non-refundable\, however\, we understand that plans change. If your child is unable to attend a class\, we will provide you with a credit to be used for another session (kitchen credits expire within 6 months). You must notify us at least 7 days before the class start date. Rescheduling requests must be emailed to us at info@mixitupkitchen.com or by calling us at 617-794-5191.  Any requests made within the 7 day window can only be honored if we can fill your child’s spot. Due to our limited class size we appreciate your understanding. SUMMARY:Mexican Flavors | Adult Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Spice up your cooking repertoire and join us for a fun evening out!  In this hands-on workshop\, you’ll work in small groups alongside our professional chef to cook a restaurant style meal. You’ll learn knife skills\, culinary techniques and tips to create fresh and flavorful dishes. Choose the option to enjoy your creations at the kitchen or package things up to enjoy at home.  Class size limited. \nPlease note: For everyone’s safety and for the time being\, we ask that guests/staff regardless of their vaccination status wear masks while cooking. Beer and wine are permitted as long as guests “sip safely.” Masks may be removed when it’s time to enjoy dinner.  Guests are welcome to sit at our long table\, stay at their station or opt to bring their dinner home.  \nMenu \nGreens topped with jicama\, red onion\, cornbread crouton\, roasted red pepper and avocado lime vinaigrette \nHomemade tostada topped with tequila marinated chicken\, black bean purée and tomatillo salsa\, served with a chipotle crème fraiche \nRoasted Mexican zucchini with cherry tomatoes \nDulce de leche (chef-prepared) \n  \nDate: Saturday\, September 25th \n\nTime: 6:00-8:00 PM \n\nCost: $95 per person \n  \nIf this class is full please contact us at info@mixitupkitchen.com to be put on a waitlist. \n\n\nThings to know:\n\n\nPlease inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions prior to registering. Our kitchen will open 5 minutes prior to class (kindly no arrival before that time so we can be ready for you).\n\n\nMenu items may change slightly due to freshness and availability.  We reserve the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment and a full refund will be provided.  In the unlikely event that this happens\, you’ll be notified at least 48 hours prior.  If you need to cancel\, we can provide a credit towards a future class if you notify us at least 7 days prior to the class (class credit is valid for 6 months). Due to the intimate size of our classes\, we are unable to provide a credit for cancellations within 7 days of the event for any reason.  However\, you are welcome to send someone in your place- just let us know in advance. \n\nWe look forward to seeing you!\n
