In this fun and friendly holiday-themed competition\, each “contestant” will take part in two dessert challenges: a baking and a decorating challenge. Who will be crowned the title of the Kids Baking Champion? Come join us to find out! \nPlease note: this competition is not affiliated with the actual show and prizes are not given out. These delicious Parisian sandwich cookies are remarkably simple once you learn the science and technique behind them.  In this hands-on workshop\, we’ll show you how to make meringue batter with techniques such as ribboning\, piping\, resting and baking. We’ll work in groups to make the shells and some delicious holiday inspired fillings. SUMMARY:Nailed It! | Halloween Edition | Ages 9-14
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the popular TV Show Nailed it!\, join us for our Halloween edition of friendly competition and fun!  Each aspiring decorator will be challenged to recreate a Halloween cake masterpiece made by our professional cake decorator.  We’ll start with a cake decorating tutorial and tips to get started on the right track\, then each contestant will be given a 2-layer 6 inch vanilla cake to decorate their own look-alike. Cakes equal approximately 6 servings and are baked by us ahead of time to allow cakes to cool. Just like the show\, each contestant may press the buzzer for 3 minutes of assistance.  Everyone will take home a cake but only one person will wear the golden chef hat!  Come join the fun! \nOur instructor will teach kids how to level a cake\, crumb coat\, use an offset spatula and scraper and piping bag to create a professional looking cake. (Please note: the picture on this event listing will not be the exact cake being decorated). \n  \nAbout the instructor \nMelissa is an award winning cookie and cake decorator with many of her works published in magazines.
