These delicious Parisian sandwich cookies are remarkably simple once you learn the science and technique behind them.  In this hands-on workshop\, we’ll show you how to make meringue batter with techniques such as ribboning\, piping\, resting and baking. We’ll work in groups to make the shells and some delicious fillings. SUMMARY:Nailed It! | Halloween Edition | Ages 9-14
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the popular TV Show Nailed it!\, join us for our Halloween edition of friendly competition and fun!  Each aspiring decorator will be challenged to recreate a Halloween cake masterpiece made by our professional cake decorator.  We’ll start with a cake decorating tutorial and tips to get started on the right track\, then each contestant will be given a 2-layer 6 inch vanilla cake to decorate their own look-alike. Cakes equal approximately 6 servings and are baked by us ahead of time to allow cakes to cool. Just like the show\, each contestant may press the buzzer for 3 minutes of assistance.  Everyone will take home a cake but only one person will wear the golden chef hat!  Come join the fun! \nOur instructor will teach kids how to level a cake\, crumb coat\, use an offset spatula and scraper and piping bag to create a professional looking cake. Our MIUK judges will decide the winner for the most patriotic display. DESCRIPTION:Learn the art of baking basics from cookies to crostatas. We’ll cover a variety of baking skills including measuring (liquid versus dry)\, kitchen scale with simple weight measurements and a variety of baking tools and basic techniques. We’ll mix\, fold and whisk our way through some of our favorite recipes. This camp is a great introduction to baking. A recipe booklet will be emailed at the end of the week. Class size limited.
